Eric's Bio | Keltie's Bio

Eric grew up in a small town in northwestern Michigan in a loving family. While in high school, he began to attend Fellowship for Christian Athletes and began to embrace Jesus Christ. It wasn’t until his freshman year in college however that he understood and received the gospel. While studying engineering at Michigan State University he was discipled by Eric Russ and began to learn what it meant to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Upon graduation he felt the overwhelming call to join the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ. Eric was placed on an inner-city college ministry team in Detroit Michigan where he served for two years.

During these two years Eric gained a biblical perspective on the poor and oppressed and God spawned in him a real heart for those living in Detroit. It was also during this time that Eric began to understand God’s heart for diversity. God used this time to ignite in Eric a passion for cross cultural ministry and to see individuals of differing racial and ethnic backgrounds united under the cross of Christ.

After three years of full time ministry, Eric sensed the need for further theological training and began pursuing a Masters of Divinity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. At Gordon Conwell Eric has been able to develop his passion for discipleship as part of a special scholarship program for those with extraordinary gifts in this area. Discipleship is one Eric’s greatest strengths and is something he hopes to be able to implement in the local church.
